Galentine’s Day with the Worsted Witches: A Trunk Show to Remember

Yesterday, the Worsted Witches gathered at Lost Tavern Brewing in Hellertown for what might just be our best Galentine’s Day celebration yet—a trunk show with Briana Luppino of The Little Wolf Knits. It was everything I love about our group: good friends, great conversation, and way too much yarn (not that I’m complaining).

Briana has been a favorite dyer of mine for years, so getting to host her again for a second trunk show felt extra special. This time, we made it even more exciting by featuring an exclusive colorway—Potion & Purl, created just for the Worsted Witches. A deep, moody, magical shade, it perfectly captures the energy of our group, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. If you couldn’t make it to the event, you can still pre-order it here. Trust me, you’ll want to get your hands on this one.

Of course, no fiber event is complete without some serious stash enhancement. And let’s just say… we did not hold back. Briana brought so many incredible yarns, and I walked away with more than a few skeins. I finally picked out the perfect yarn for the Alchemy Pullover by Knit California—a beautiful blue shade on her Sunfish base, which is soft, bouncy, and perfect for the drapey silhouette of that design. And since I clearly don’t have enough projects on my needles already, I’m using Potion & Purl for Briana’s new garter stitch sweater pattern. Two sweaters added to the queue in one afternoon? Sounds about right.

Meanwhile, the non-knitters in our lives found their own way to pass the time. Our partners claimed a section of the bar, pretending not to notice the increasing number of yarn-filled tote bags appearing at our table. There were some amused glances, a few resigned sighs, and I think at least one “Are you sure you need more yarn?” But at this point, they know better than to fight it.

The best part of the day, though, wasn’t just the yarn (even though, let’s be real, that was a huge highlight). It was the chance to celebrate friendship and creativity with this amazing group of people. The Worsted Witches has grown into something really special—a place where we can escape for a few hours, share our love for fiber arts, and just enjoy each other’s company.

If you missed this one, don’t worry—there’s always something fun coming up. Be sure to follow @TheWorstedWitches on Instagram and join our Discord (link in bio) so you don’t miss our next event. In the meantime, I’ve got some serious sweater knitting to do.

Until next time—happy stitching!
